Values and Vision of Plymouth Creek Christian Church Educational Activities
As a Disciples of Christ Congregation, we have historically endeavored to shed denominational labels in favor of inclusivity. That is to say that we are open to “other” Christian traditions. At Plymouth Creek Christian Church, we will continue our Christian education program in the spirit of openness in our fall offering of children’s, youth and adult Sunday school. We will strive to glean a deep, yet immediate spiritual understanding through our study and discussion of scripture. In the “Disciples tradition” we read the scripture as written and seek to understand it within the context of time and place. We then, through open discussion and discernment, bring the scripture to life in our present day circumstances as individuals and whenever possible as a group. Our greatest success occurs when we as individuals and as a group are able to translate God’s scriptural messages into our daily behavior and become earthly agents of the Gospel. In our discussions we strive for clarity rather than consensus on spiritual issues. Our sessions can be lively, enriching and just plain fun. Please join us in our Sunday morning meetings.
