Pastor’s Greetings-

Hi there. I hope you're having a good day. Thanks for visiting. I’m Shane Isner, the pastor of Plymouth Creek Christian Church, and I’ll take but a brief moment of your time to welcome you, and offer a sense of what’s happening in this place. Otherwise, please poke around, explore the space and make your own conclusions about the kind of church this is.

We feel that greeting a visitor to this website is much the same as if you walked through the doors on Sunday morning, minus the handshakes, bulletins and cups of coffee. For us, it’s an opportunity to provide hospitality, much the same as we all receive at the Lord’s Table during worship. In that fashion, hospitality is open to all, full of thoughtfulness, authenticity and celebration, and hopefully a chance to receive instruction and challenge for living a faithful life of discipleship and mission. So we’ve tried to build this site to communicate our life together as creatively and clearly (and hospitably) as we can, in the hope that when you click away, you do so uplifted, and with a better sense of your place in God’s good Creation. For the sake of full disclosure, we’re also hoping you might consider our Sanctuary on Sunday mornings at 10 AM as included in that place. I suspect you figured as much.

But I’m getting ahead of myself; for now please know we’re glad you took the time to stop by, and bless us with your "e-presence". As you look around, I’d encourage you to read about our unique history. Evaluate our passion for partnerships in mission with the Plymouth community, the Twin Cities and the world, and our deepening encounters with the depth and breadth of worship and prayer. Ponder our curiosity about the fullness of Christian tradition and our own Disciples of Christ heritage, and share our joy at offering safe space to teach faith to and learn from children and youth.

Or at least that’s how I describe it. If there’s one thing Plymouth Creek does well, it’s encouraging folk to take ownership of her/his own story of faith, which is to say someone else might give you another description entirely! In fact, as the pastor, I hope so. We Plymouth Creek Disciples value unity through diversity; it helps us better discern the vast beauty and glory of the Lord, our Creator and Redeemer.

So once again, thanks for the visit. You’re welcome back any time. Hope to see you on Sunday, but in any event, in all things I wish you,

Grace and Peace,

Shane
